Young @ Heart and Drunk Stuntmen are Back.....to Back. Three generations together in the spirit of original rock and roll.
In September 2004 The Young @ Heart Chorus, the Valley's legendary aging rock band played to sold out crowds in Brugge and Antwerp, Belgium. A three-night stint in the 80-year-old Luxor Theatre in Rotterdam, the Netherlands featured a world premiere of a new show Road To Nowhere. For this show, the Chorus brought along another legendary Northampton rock band, the Drunk Stuntmen.
Drunk Stuntmen and Young @ Heart then presented the first half of Back... to Back at the Academy of Music Theatre in Northampton to tumultuous response. The fun continued in December at the fabulous Hippodrome (formerly the Paramount Theater) in downtown Springfield. The Young @ Heart's interpretation of Rock and Roll is celebrated throughout the world. In the past seven years they have toured Europe 10 times and have performed in Australia, Hawaii and Montreal. The Stuntmen, guest artists at this show, joined them on stage performing their own brand of roots rock salvation. The show included 4 original tunes by the Stuntmen performed with the Chorus. Also on hand was a six-piece horn section featuring professional musicians as well as students from the West Springfield High School, under the direction of Mark Turcotte.
Back....to Back was sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts, Massachusetts Cultural Council, Gravity Switch, the Loomis Communities, Bay State Health, Lathrop Communities, Cooley Dickinson Hospital, ABC 40, the Valley Advocate and WRNX.
